Saved by Fate Dog Rescue is a dog rescue organization in Central Kentucky that specializes in pulling dogs at high risk of euthanasia from Kentucky shelters. Bully breeds, especially pit pull type dogs, hold a special place in the hearts of the Saved by Fate’s founders, Mara DeLaus and Ciara Hagedorn.
In an effort to break the cycle of more dogs ending up in shelters, Saved By Fate offers completely free Spay and Neuter Assistance Program to Kentucky residents. Additionally, Co-Founder Ciara Hagedorn, regular visits local schools to educate Kentucky youth on the importance of spaying and neutering , professional dog training, and adopting from animal rescues and shelters.

All breeds are welcomed and encouraged to enter! We encourage you to submit your favorite photo of your pets and ask your family and friends to vote for them.
Yes, but there is a limit of one pet per photo entry. People are not allowed in photos, only your pet. Photos that do not follow these rules will be removed and will not be eligible to win with no opportunity for a refund.
The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 13 entrants that get the most votes. The top winner will win the coveted cover photo for the 2025 calendar! 2nd – 13th place winners will have their pet featured as a pet of the month. The top 13 vote getters will have their pet professionally photographed by Heather Huffman Photography. All winners will have the opportunity to upgrade to a full session and/or purchase products following their session if desired.
Additionally, there are a variety of mini-contest prizes sponsored by local Lexington businesses that you win if your pet receives the highest number of new votes for a particular time frame.
Complimentary calendar contest micro sessions will be held on pre-determined dates in Spring and Summer months in 2024 at a pre-determined outdoor location in Lexington, Kentucky. Upgraded calendar contest sessions will be held at select locations throughout the Lexington area between May and October 2024. Exact details will be provided to winners upon completion of the calendar contest.
Honor your pet or celebrate a gotcha-day or birthday by reserving an empty grid space (before or after the numbered squares) for their photo. Choose a favorite photo, a month, and pay. Each month has a limited number of squares in each grid and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
Yes and no. To win one of the grand prizes, you & your dog need to be available to come to a photo session in the Lexington, Kentucky area in the spring and or summer months.
🐶 No matter where you live, your dog can be in the calendar by reserving a grid space.
😃 You do not need to be a resident of Lexington to win one of our mini-contest prizes.
