Puppy yoga in Lexington KY is a fun, relaxed way to support local rescue animals. On Sunday, February 1st, that’s exactly what happened at Bark and the Purr.
The pet boutique hosted a puppy yoga fundraiser benefiting Saved by Fate Dog Rescue. Participants practiced yoga while sharing their mats with adoptable rescue puppies. All proceeds from the event went directly to supporting dogs currently in foster care with Saved by Fate.
The event featured Saved by Fate’s current foster litter, named after the Friends cast, Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler, and Joey were all there. The cast of puppies wandered freely throughout the space, curling up beside yogis, exploring yoga props, and turning traditional poses into something much more fun.
The atmosphere stayed casual and welcoming, making puppy yoga in Lexington KY approachable for beginners, dog lovers, and anyone looking to support local rescues.
After yoga wrapped up, guests had the opportunity to meet adoptable kittens available through rescue. Bark and the Purr is also home to a foster cat who was surrendered after their owner moved into assisted living following an injury named Trinity. The space provided a calm, temporary home while the cat waits for a new family. You can view more adoptable kittens and cats here.
Following the event, I photographed the puppies against a pink Valentine’s Day backdrop for their adoption profiles. These images will be used on their rescue listings to help potential adopters see each puppy’s personality. You can find all their adorable photos and profiles here.
Events like puppy yoga at Bark and the Purr show how local businesses, rescue organizations, and the Lexington community can work together to support animals in need.
