There’s something magical about a summer mornings. The sun is already warm on your face, the flowers are in full bloom, and your dog is bouncing with excitement because he knows he’s in for a fun day. That’s exactly how our recent visit to Evan’s Orchard & Cider Mill began.
I packed up my camera, grabbed Henry’s leash, a water bottle, and we hit the road for a little sunshine, some sweet treats, and a whole lot of color.
The zinnias were bursting with color—hot pinks, oranges, reds, yellows—like a confetti parade in bloom. Henry trotted through them like a prince, sniffing with purpose, striking poses (mostly prompted with yummy treats.
Then we wandered to the sunflowers fields. Tall and golden and reaching for the sky. The bees were buzzing, the butterflies flittering and Henry? He was living his best life.
After working up a sweat photographing my four-legged supermodel, it was time for a treat. I grabbed a cold apple cider slushie (basically the best summer drink ever) and a slice of warm apple pie topped with vanilla soft-serve because balance. Henry didn’t get pie, but he definitely got a few licks of ice cream and a big bowl of cold water. He approved.
Between the flower fields, the shady orchard paths, and the friendly faces everywhere, it’s the kind of place that just makes you feel good. It’s also incredibly dog-friendly, which makes it one of my favorite spots to recommend for summer pet photo sessions.
Henry loved every second—and I left feeling sun-kissed, snack-satisfied, and so thankful for places like this where we can slow down and savor summer with our dogs.
Evan’s Orchard has my heart—and Henry’s tail wag of approval. If you’re dreaming of photos in the sunflowers or zinnias, now’s the perfect time to book!
