A Branding Session That Reflected Her Business

When Maggie Kundla of Sit Stay Lex, a mobile dog training business in Lexington, Kentucky, first reached out to me, the plan was simple: create some updated branding images in the studio. But as we talked more about her business, something became clear. Maggie’s work isn’t confined to four walls. She and her team travel throughout Lexington helping families build better relationships with their dogs. Their business is built around meeting clients where they are, creating personalized training experiences, and making life with dogs more enjoyable. A traditional studio session suddenly felt too small to tell that story. That’s when inspiration struck.

With the addition of Sit Stay Lex’s bright yellow  spinter van, we realized we had the perfect opportunity to create branding images that truly represented the heart of the company. Instead of a studio backdrop, we chose one of Lexington’s most iconic locations: Keeneland.Few places capture the beauty of Kentucky quite like Keeneland. The rolling hills, open sky  and historic horse country landscape provided the perfect setting to showcase not only Maggie’s business but also the spirit of Lexington itself. The yellow van added personality, color, and a visual reminder that Sit Stay Lex brings professional dog training directly to clients throughout Central Kentucky.

Celebrating an Incredible Team of Women Dog Trainers

One of my favorite parts of this session was photographing Maggie alongside her staff. These women are passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping dogs and their people succeed. Their energy together was contagious. There was plenty of laughter, encouragement, and the kind of teamwork that makes clients immediately feel comfortable. As a business owner myself, I love photographing other women-owned businesses and helping them tell the stories behind what they do. Branding photography isn’t just about headshots. It’s about showing the personality, passion, and people who make a business special.

Dog Trainers and Dog Lovers Make the Best Clients

As a Lexington KY dog photographer, I spend much of my time documenting the relationships people share with their pets. Working with dog trainers is especially rewarding because they understand canine behavior so well and appreciate the importance of preserving memories with the dogs who enrich our lives.Maggie and her team have built a business that helps dogs thrive, and it was an honor to create images that celebrate everything they have accomplished.

Looking for Branding Photography in Lexington, Kentucky?

Whether you’re a dog trainer, veterinarian, groomer, pet business owner, or simply someone who wants beautiful portraits with your dog, I’d love to help tell your story. Because sometimes the best backdrop isn’t a studio at all. Sometimes it’s a Kentucky sunset, white fences, and a group of women who are changing dogs’ lives one family at a time.

My pups and me

Hi! I’m Heather!

A dog photographer living my best life in the beautiful bluegrass state of Lexington, Kentucky.

Through years of working alongside a therapy dog in schools and retirement homes, I witnessed how animals soften people.  They open conversation, ease loneliness, and creating moments of connection where there might have been none. Those experiences shaped how I see the bond between pets and humans, and why it deserves to be celebrated and cherished.

I’ve also spent a few years volunteering with rescues and raising funds for dogs who need help and homes. Being close to those stories, the fragile beginnings and second chances has deepened my respect for the responsibility that comes with telling these stories, too.
