Similar to how we- humans love to feast on delicious food, Most pooches love treats. So If your dog is food-motivated, lots of high-value treats to hold your furbaby’s attention. Not to mention, reward them for looking so adorable for the camera.
If playing is your doggos’ jam, then we have balls and toys to keep it happy and engaged.
Another fun tool we use is a variety of apps and gadgets to get their attention and capture their adorable expression. Kazoos, hunting calls, and squeakers are some of my favorites to get a head tilt or their ears up.
Long Leads, A Dog Photographer’s Best Friend
One tool that you will never see in the professional dog photos is long leads. Long leads help keep dogs safe on location and are easily edited out later. A good lead or leash keeps your dog close to its owner but far enough away so you don’t have to be in the photo. This way your pup stays safe and out of trouble during the photo session.
For small dogs or senior pooches with mobility issues, wagons are great to use when working in outdoor locations.
